About Us

Salanger Trucking, LLC was founded in 1957 by Bernard R. Salanger.  That year, Bernard aka Bernie was awarded his first contract to deliver mail for the United States Postal Service. FUN FACT:  66 years later we still operate that very same contract today.  In 1995 Bernie passed away and the two contracts held by him were novated to his son, Richard Salanger.  From 1995 to today we have grown our business with the USPS from 3 trucks and 2 contracts to over 60 trucks and over 30 contracts.  There are three generations of the Salanger Family that are currently involved in the business and daily operations.  Dick Salanger as the President/Owner, His brother Thomas Salanger as Equipment/Shop Manager, Dick’s daughter Colleen Kotlow, as HR/Payroll Manager, and Dick’s wife Mary Pat Salanger as Office assistant. 

Our only business is as a supplier to the USPS and we have the experience, knowhow and equipment to perform the duties that we are contracted to do.  Salanger Trucking, LLC is a member of the National Star Route Mail Contractors Association, Associated Transporters of NY and we received Smartway Certification again for the 5th year in a row.  We have been awarded the Northeast Area Vice President Award in 1996 and have also been Eagle Spirit award winners in 2006 and 2011 all honors that are determined by our customer the USPS
